Rwanda attends for the first time the global platform for disaster risk reduction

Rwanda will attend for the first time the Fourth Session of the Global platform for Disaster Risk Reduction which will be held in Geneva from Sunday 19 May to Thursday 23 May 2013.

Volunteers engaged to foster disaster response

126 volunteers from Red Cross at District level are set to undergo Disaster Management trainings in order to enhance and decentralize capacity in response during Disasters.  The training organized by the Ministry of Disaster management and Refugee affairs (MIDIMAR) since May 15 to 27, 2013 will be delivered to Rwanda red Cross volunteers from eight District namely: Karongi, Ngororero, Rulindo, Gakeneke, Nyarugenge , Gicumbi, Gasabo and Kicukiro.
