The Refugee Affairs Department of MIDIMAR is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of all services delivered to Refugees and Returnees by different Stakeholders in various places including the 3 Refugee Camps (GIHEMBE, NYABIHEKE, KIZIBA) and 2 Transit Centers(NYAGATARE and NKAMIRA) for Returnees. All these Camps and Transit Centers are under this Department’s supervision which is also extended to urban Refugees.

VISION

The vision of Refugee Affairs Department is to ensure that “Refugees in Rwanda are well assisted and protected, while Returnees are socio-economically reintegrated in order to achieve the living standards of other Rwandan citizens in the Country”.

MISSION

Its mission is”to review policies and laws in order to strengthen the coordination and monitoring of all the activities related to Refugees and Returnees.
